The appearance is similar to regular thujopsis with flat fans of swollen, glossy green, arborvitae like foliage. Eventually, Thuja dolabrata 'Hondai' will make a very elegant conical 5' wide x 12' tall specimen in 10 years, but it will first form a compact bush for 4 5 years until the central leader begins to develop.
